Participation tells us who showed up. We look deeper to understand whether members are taking meaningful action, whether risk is moving in a better direction, whether support is aligned with need and whether that progress is creating measurable value.
Engagement matters when it translates into meaningful activity. We look beyond logins, clicks and isolated participation to understand whether members are taking sustained actions that build skills, reinforce progress and move them toward the outcomes that matter.
Actions completed · Skills practiced · Frequency · Sustained engagement
A member working to improve nutrition doesn't simply receive information about healthy eating. They choose a challenge that matters to them, take achievable actions, practice new skills and repeat those actions over time.
Meaningful activity gives us a better indication of progress than participation alone. It shows whether members are actively building the skills, confidence and routines that support lasting change.
A single health measure tells us where someone is today. Tracking risk over time helps us understand where they are headed. We look across biometric and health factors to measure improvement, stability and increasing risk, creating a clearer picture of changing health trajectory.
Risk score · Risk tier · Biometric change · Stability
A member may still be classified as high risk while meaningfully improving blood pressure, A1c or other health factors. Measuring movement over time helps us recognize improvement before someone crosses an arbitrary threshold.
Improving or stabilizing health risk can reduce the likelihood of higher-cost health events and future healthcare utilization. Risk movement gives us a measurable way to connect member progress with the opportunity for lower healthcare costs over time.
Members need different levels of support at different times. We evaluate whether the type and intensity of support match member need, risk and engagement as those factors change over time, helping clients use limited resources where they can create the greatest impact.
Member need · Risk level · Engagement · Support intensity
A member may begin with personalized digital guidance, then add coaching, nursing or advocacy when needs become more complex. As needs stabilize or change, support adjusts with them.
Higher-touch resources are valuable and limited. Aligning support with need helps focus time and investment where they can create greater impact while maintaining scalable guidance across the broader population.
Better member outcomes matter to the organization too. We look at how changes in activity, risk and health trajectory relate to healthcare costs, productivity and program investment over time.
Healthcare cost · Risk movement · Program investment · Resource utilization
A population with sustained meaningful activity and improving or stable risk creates a different financial trajectory than one with increasing risk and unmanaged needs. We evaluate that movement against program investment to understand where value is being created.
ROI is more than assigning a dollar amount to every activity. Understanding changes in risk, cost and resource use helps clients see where their investment is having an impact and where future resources can create greater value.
Members completing sustained, action-based Walkthrough journeys demonstrated significantly greater improvement than members receiving biometric screening and feedback alone.

WellVisor analyzed members with at-risk biometric indicators including blood pressure, cholesterol, A1c and BMI. Members were compared based on the support they received: screening and feedback, coaching or nursing support, or sustained participation in WellVisor Walkthrough journeys.
The more structured and actionable the support became, the greater the improvement in biometric risk.
Members who received biometric screening, personalized education, recommendations and guidance improved their at-risk biometric measures by an average of 7%. Screening created awareness and helped identify where action was needed, but the improvement remained relatively modest without ongoing support.
Members who also participated in coaching or nursing support improved 13% more than members receiving screening and feedback alone. Human guidance added expertise, encouragement and accountability, demonstrating the additional value of support beyond awareness alone.
Members who completed at least 160 WellVisor action steps, approximately six or more Walkthrough journeys, achieved 55% greater improvement than members receiving screening and feedback alone. They also improved 37% more than members participating in coaching or nursing support.
The strongest improvement was associated with sustained, structured action. Walkthroughs move beyond awareness by helping members translate guidance into small, achievable actions they can practice in everyday life. Each journey combines personalized guidance, skill building and repeated action around something meaningful to the member.
Members completing 160 or more action steps demonstrated the greatest improvement of the three groups, reinforcing the relationship between meaningful activity and movement toward a healthier risk trajectory.
The findings reinforce an important distinction between participation and meaningful activity. Knowing a risk exists is important. Receiving support can help. But members demonstrated the greatest biometric improvement when guidance translated into sustained action over time.
A third-party analysis of actual paid claims found that healthcare spending flattened among members who worked with WellVisor, while costs continued to rise among those who did not.

A third-party analysis evaluated healthcare spending among members of a ~5,000-life health system who qualified with one or more chronic conditions, including diabetes, coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, asthma or COPD.
To support longitudinal comparison, members were required to remain on the health plan for at least three years during the five-year study period. The analysis used actual paid claims to compare members who worked with WellVisor with those who did not.
Members who worked with WellVisor flattened their healthcare spending trajectory while costs continued to rise among members who did not.
Members who worked with WellVisor generated approximately $1.8 million in healthcare savings over the five-year study period. Importantly, WellVisor program costs were billed through claims and therefore included in the analysis.
Healthcare spending among members who worked with WellVisor flattened over the study period. Members who did not participate continued along the established upward cost trend.
The analysis estimated that total healthcare savings would have exceeded $3 million if all eligible members in the study population had worked with WellVisor.
Members working with WellVisor had access to the WellVisor app, personalized guidance, relevant resources and ongoing support designed to help them understand their health, manage chronic needs and make better everyday decisions.
The analysis does not require us to assign a dollar value to an individual action or interaction. Instead, it looks at what ultimately matters to the client: the difference in actual healthcare spending over time.
Chronic conditions represent a significant and persistent source of healthcare spending. The study demonstrates the value of looking beyond participation alone and examining whether sustained member support is associated with a different cost trajectory over time.
For this population, members who worked with WellVisor experienced flattened healthcare spending and approximately $1.8 million in observed savings. The analysis also identified additional opportunity: broader participation was estimated to increase total savings beyond $3 million.
Participation grows when people have a reason to engage. WellVisor combines strategic incentives with personalized experiences built around what matters to each member.

Across WellVisor populations, participation has averaged 64.3%, with individual populations ranging from approximately 32% to 90%. That range gives us an opportunity to look beyond the average and understand what stronger-participation populations have in common.
Our experience shows that participation reflects both sides of the equation: how clients create opportunities and reasons to engage, and how WellVisor creates an experience that is relevant, personal and easy to act on. Together, those factors help more members enter the experience—and give them reasons to return.
More ways to meet people where they are creates more opportunities to help them move forward.
Our highest-participation populations share something important: WellVisor is embedded in the culture, not simply another benefit.

Participation across WellVisor populations has ranged from approximately 32% to 90%, reflecting differences in client culture, program design, incentives and opportunities to engage.
One health system achieved participation approaching 90%, demonstrating the level of engagement that can be achieved when WellVisor is deeply integrated into the member experience.
Clients with stronger participation actively promote a culture of health and wellbeing and keep available support visible throughout the year.
Including WellVisor in employee onboarding introduces the experience early and establishes it as part of the organization's benefits and wellbeing strategy.
Incentives, communications and on-site opportunities create different reasons and moments for members to enter the experience.
WellVisor helps clients align incentives and rewards with meaningful activities, creating an immediate reason to begin and an opportunity to connect members with what comes next.
Members enter with different goals and challenges. WellVisor supports needs ranging from health and chronic conditions to stress, finances, relationships, benefits and everyday life skills—then makes progress approachable through simple, achievable steps taken one at a time.
WellVisor starts with the member's vision, challenges and available benefits—not with what we think they should work on. Members choose what matters, what they're ready to do and the path they want to take.
Members can check progress, recognize what they've accomplished, continue building skills and choose what matters next—creating reasons to return beyond the initial interaction.
WellVisor doesn't define success by participation alone. Participation creates the opportunity to influence what happens next.
We look deeper at whether members take meaningful action, build skills, sustain engagement and move toward better outcomes. The more members we reach, the more opportunities we have to connect people with relevant support—and ultimately influence risk and client value.
Members consistently rate WellVisor experiences highly—from digital guidance and action plans to coaching, nursing, advocacy and customer support.

WellVisor is designed around a simple idea: the right support isn't simply more support. It should fit the person, the need and the moment.
Across digital experiences and human support, we look at whether members feel informed, supported and able to move forward while remaining in control of their own path.
The right support fits the person and the moment.
Our highest-participation populations share something important: WellVisor is embedded in the culture, not simply another benefit.

Member interactions with WellVisor's human support teams average 2.9 out of 3 across nursing, coaching, advocacy, issue resolution and customer service.
WellVisor provides structure and guidance without taking away choice. Members decide what matters, what they're ready to work on and what next step fits their life.
Guidance begins with the member's goals, challenges and circumstances—not simply what a program determines should matter. Support becomes more useful when it connects to something the individual actually cares about.
Guidance is translated into simple, manageable actions rather than overwhelming plans. Members can make progress at a pace that fits the realities of everyday life.
Wellie, available benefits and WellVisor resources help connect members with answers, guidance and support based on what they're actually trying to accomplish.
Digital guidance can provide immediate access to answers and resources, while connected workflows help move members to human support when more assistance is needed.
Member satisfaction isn't the outcome by itself. It helps us understand whether the experience we're creating is working for the person receiving it.
When guidance feels relevant, achievable and personally meaningful—and members remain in control—they are better positioned to take action, return when they need support and continue moving forward.
